Initially trained in embroidery. Work developed in paper after a fine art/textiles diploma at Goldsmith College. Creative papermaking is taught to all ages and experience to include schools, colleges, Guild branches and the Oxford Summer School since its inception in 1990.
Inspiration has always come from being in the landscape - its space, textures, colours, atmosphere. A recent move to East Anglia has brought a change of scenery and architecture, and current work explores these new surroundings. Using my own handmade papers, paint and print the work may be further combined with materials such as steel, slate, wood, etc, to form book structures, collages and, echoing my love of textiles, delicate stitched paper hangings.
